Помимо генетической предрасположенности и факторов окружающей среды, хронический панкреатит, безусловно, является самым большим фактором риска развития злокачественной опухоли поджелудочной железы. В настоящее время отсутствуют методы скринига для  раннего выявления рака поджелудочной железы и его дифференциальной диагностики с хроническим панкреатитом. Точная характеристика поражений поджелудочной железы имеет решающее значение при принятии решения о том, следует ли использовать активную хирургическую тактику или динамическое наблюдение, какую выполнять операцию.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Every year more and more pancreatic lesions are accidentally detected. Besides genetic predisposition and environmental factors, chronic pancreatitis is by far the greatest risk factor for pancreatic malignancy. Currently, there are no screening methods for early detection of pancreatic cancer and its differential diagnosis with chronic pancreatitis.
